Siegfried Kaltenecker and Thomas Spielhofer are the editors of PAM. This platform is the product of many discussions on agile management and the impression that there was no knowledge platform yet that sufficiently covered this area. Throughout our careers we worked with many interesting sources that either covered agile or management. But we found none that satisfactorily explored the interplay between both. How does leadership work in organizations that use agile methods? How to conduct organizational development in agile enviroments? What are sensible and what are less sensible combinations of agile and “conventional” project management? Questions we felt that are best addressed from multiple views: to successfully turn agile, you need an approach that takes leadership, project management and organizational development into account. Being agile is a team sport. Turning agile even more so.

Siegfried Kaltenecker

Siegfried Kaltenecker is an organizational consultant with 15 years of experience in facilitating, training, and coaching. He co-owns and co-manages Loop Organisationsberatung GmbH, an open consulting network, specialised in IT business, financial services,and industry.

Siegfried has already been involved in many international companies such as Alcatel, bwin, Aperture Software, Hewlett Packard, OMV-Petrom, Raiffeisen or T-Systems.

Efficiently ombining agile know how with internal change management and external consultancy often was a specific challenge in many organizational development projects.

Thomas Spielhofer

Thomas Spielhofer worked as manager responsible for project delivery in different businesses. He successfully uses agile methods to optimize the IT output and the collaboration between business and IT.

He started his professional career as software developer, and then moved to become a project manager. His projects range from eCommerce applications to multi-national business intelligence ventures. Key to successful delivery was the right use of agile and conventional management techniques.
